The Claudettes’ next Boston-area show is October 9, 2026 at The Fallout Shelter.
The Claudettes are a Chicago band built around pianist Johnny Iguana, who learned barrelhouse blues alongside Junior Wells and Buddy Guy and then bent it toward punk tempos and sixties soul. The result is piano blues played with the impatience of a garage band, vocals riding on top of Iguana's left hand and a rhythm section that never quite lets a shuffle settle. Iguana also plays in the Grammy-nominated Chicago Blues: A Living History project, which explains how much history is packed into a set this restless.
