Melissa Aldana is a Chilean-American jazz tenor saxophonist and composer. In 2013 she became the first woman instrumentalist and first South American musician to win the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition, and she has since recorded for Blue Note Records, earning Grammy nominations for her work. She tours leading her own quartet.
