Kemp Harris Band

Kemp Harris resists categorization: a singer and songwriter who weaves American styles together, and also an actor, author, activist and award-winning educator who taught public school for more than forty years. Born in segregated Edenton, North Carolina and raised in Massachusetts, he honed a powerful, intimate performance style in Cambridge's coffeehouses and has shared stages with Koko Taylor, Taj Mahal, Livingston Taylor and Gil Scott-Heron. His album Edenton, featuring the Holmes Brothers, is a modern blues journey back to his hometown.
