Keala Kaumeheiwa is an acclaimed jazz bassist based in the Boston area, where he teaches Jazz Ensembles at MIT and Phillips Exeter Academy. He holds a degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, studied with legendary bassist Ron Carter, and has performed alongside jazz luminaries including Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Wynton Marsalis, and Jimmy Heath. He also performed with the New York String Orchestra at Carnegie Hall and The Kennedy Center.
