Kate Couriel is a Manchester electric violinist and singer songwriter who plays the instrument hard and loud, pushing it out of its classical training into rock and pop. She is a central part of Seb Lowe's band, which has played Glastonbury and Reading and Leeds and supported Paul Weller and Richard Ashcroft. Her own songs include Draw Me a Person and Patriarchy's Dead.
