Heems

Heems (born Himanshu Suri) is a New York-based rapper and producer best known as a co-founder of the influential indie rap group Das Racist, whose sardonic, sample-heavy albums redefined left-field hip-hop in the early 2010s. Since Das Racist's dissolution, Heems has released a string of politically charged solo records including "Eat Pray Thug" (2015), exploring South Asian-American identity, immigrant experience, and post-9/11 anxiety through dense, experimental production. He performs regularly across the indie and experimental hip-hop circuit.
