Gregory Groover Jr. is a Boston-bred saxophonist, composer, and educator who studied at Berklee College of Music on a full scholarship and now serves as Assistant Chair of Ensemble there. His quintet draws on jazz, African American spirituals, and personal narrative, blending influences from Coltrane and Charlie Parker with his upbringing in a church music community.
