Evgeny Kissin is a Russian-born concert pianist widely considered one of the supreme pianists of his generation, recognized as a child prodigy and known above all for his interpretations of Romantic-era works by Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Liszt, and Beethoven. A two-time Grammy winner, he was the first pianist invited to give a solo recital at the BBC Proms and the first concerto soloist to open that festival.
