Eduardo Betancourt is a Grammy Award-winning Venezuelan harpist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist from Caracas who has spent three decades mastering both traditional and contemporary Venezuelan music. A recognized interpreter of the arpa llanera—the large plains harp central to Venezuelan folk tradition—he won a Latin Grammy in 2010 for his contribution to Ilan Chester’s “Tesoros de la música venezolana.” Now based in Boston, Betancourt teaches at Berklee College of Music and performs internationally as both a solo artist and with the Venezuelan Project, a Latin jazz ensemble.
