Converge is a hardcore punk and mathcore band from Salem, Massachusetts, formed in 1990. Widely considered one of the most important and innovative bands in heavy music, they redefined what hardcore could be with albums like "Jane Doe" and "You Fail Me," combining chaotic intensity with emotional depth. Vocalist Jacob Bannon and guitarist Kurt Ballou have influenced an entire generation of heavy bands, with Ballou also becoming one of metal and punk's most sought-after producers at his GodCity Studios.
